University Profile

The University of Teesside is situated in the centre of the Middlesbrough. All their teaching facilities, support services, student accommodation and the student union are within easy reach of the campus, at a walking distance. The various facilities on campus include Centre for Creative Technologies, Institute of Digital Innovation, Learning Resource Centre, Centuria Building, Olympia Building, Forensic Laboratories, and IT and Computing.

The University of Teesside takes the safety of their students very seriously and although the campus experiences very little crime or disturbance, the university has their own 24-hour security system which includes regular visible patrols, CCTV, and a Campus Watch Scheme developed with Cleveland Police. The University Security Force is on 24-hour call-out.

All students of the University of Teesside have access to the Internet and email. There are over 1,800 workstations across the campus from networked PCs running the latest Windows software to Silicon Graphics, Apple Mac, and Computer-Aided Design labs running more specialist software and hardware.

The Olypia Building of the University houses sports and excerise laboratories including biomechanics, physiology, and data analysis labs. There is also a sports hall for staging major tournaments (with capacity for 500 spectators), squash courts, and an artificial turf pitch.
