The University of Surrey offers a wide array of full-time and part-time course programmes in a broad range of subject areas. The Centre for Language Studies of the University of Surrey offers a variety of modern language programmes for students and adult learners through various modes of study. English language programmes include Academic, General and Business English, IELTS preparation, and tests. It also provides a variety of Language solutions for business customers as well as all areas being supported by the Language Resource Centre.
The University of Surrey also provides pioneered integrated professional training to its students. Most students at the University will spend the third year of their degree programme on a work placement. Although placements in some fields such as health, social care, education, and placements for students on the Dance Studies programme may be unpaid, in most cases a salary is paid.
All University of Surrey students spend their first year on campus, getting to grips with the basics of their subject field. In the second year, students discuss their own particular subject interests, abilities, and wishes with their professional year tutor. In the third year of their degree programme, University students are full-time employees of the company that offered them a job but are supervised by their tutor, who visits them several times. Finally, the student returns to the Surrey campus for the fourth year of the degree programme.
