London South Bank University is situated in London, a world city and capital of the United Kingdom. The University started out in 1892 as the Borough Polytechnic and was granted University status in 1992 by the Privy Council.
Today, London South Bank University has around 20,000 students, 3,000 of which come from 120 foreign countries. 71 percent are pursuing undergraduate courses while 25 percent are doing their masterís degree. The programmes are taught by staff with relevant job experience who equip students with industry skills.
London South Bank University has four faculties. The Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences has seven departments: arts and media, education, law, psychology, social studies, urban studies, and postgraduate research. The Faculty of Business, Computing and Information Management consists of seven departments: accounting, business studies, information technology, human resources, marketing, mathematics, and software development. The Faculty of Engineering, Science and Built Environment is divided into five departments: applied science, architecture, communications, engineering systems, and property surveying. The Faculty of Health and Social Care has ten departments on varied topics like nursing, mental health, and midwifery.
