First started as a teachers training college in 1885, Edge Hill University achieved university status 121 years later in 2006. Located on Durning Road, Liverpool in England, Edge Hill University moved to the new Ormskirk campus in the 1930s. The degrees of the university are validated by Lancaster University. In recent years, new buildings like Natural and Applied Sciences building, Forest Court Halls of Residence, and the Faculty of Education and Performing Arts have been completed.
Starting out with a meagre 41 students, Edge Hill University today has over 14,000 students enrolled in various courses. The school offers a choice of 300 different subjects as Undergraduate degrees. Some of the subjects you can apply for are teaching, media, art, drama, law, history, geography, business, and sports. There are also Foundation degrees, Masters degrees, Diplomas, and MPhil and PhD research degrees available here.
A full 85 percent of the programmes are accredited by professional bodies and are career-centric. Work placements are also provided by Edge Hill University. Accommodation is available at 19 halls of residence that have around 670 fully equipped single bedrooms. Some halls are disabled-friendly and are accessible by wheelchair.
