The Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College is among the largest and most successful sixth form colleges, specializing in providing education to young students between the age group of 16-19 years. The main aim of the Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College is to provide quality education through specialized teaching staff, guiding and supporting the students at all points, to make them eligible for higher education. The college has been successful in creating a perfect environment, which meets and satisfies the needs and requirements of the students. To make the students independent and wise to take their own decisions, the college plays the role of “half-way-house”, helping its students to become responsible and ready to face all the challenges of life.
The college has a record of achieving the awards for its excellence in providing quality qualification and guidance to the students. Recently, the college won the Learning and Skills Beacon Status award. From 2006/07, the college is undergoing a major reconstruction to improve the present standards and raise its efficiency, in every possible area.
Some of the AS and As-2 level courses offered by the Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College are—dance, design, accounting, ancient history, film studies, English language and literature, environmental science, further mathematics, health and social care, graphics design, Geology, and many more specialized courses.
