Winstanley College focuses on teaching its students, self-evaluation, so that they recognize their personal strengths, identify potential barriers of success, and accordingly set clear and manageable targets. Its motto is to inspire the students to plan their paths to success on their own, and guide them on the way to enable progress.
In its Key Skills curriculum, Winstanley College offers three main skills – application of number, communication, and information technology. It offers qualifications for each one of these courses at level 1 (GCSE), level 3, and A level. These courses equip students with skills that enable them to select, combine, and present the acquired information in several forms, to be applied on to a number of purposes. At all the levels, students are taught to take responsibility of their self-development, assess, and manage the acquired knowledge at regular points. Such an individual learning program plays pivotal role in students’ lives, giving them full overview of what they have learnt, enabling them to become clearer on how to develop their skills further.
Winstanley College’s student reception is unique and dedicated to helping its students in all the matters during their study in the college. One can approach this reception at any point of time, to discuss anything that concerns him or her as a student of the college. Depending on their students’ preference, Winstanley College processes courses, produces timetables, take money for trips, arrange for work experience, and organise social event during their college life.
