Urchfont Manor College is located in Wiltshire and was first built in 1678. The building itself has a rich history, being bequeathed to William Pitt in 1765, and housing 'TB children' after the war. The college was started in 1947 and currently offers a range of residential courses, day programs, certified courses, and study tours. Residential programs are available for such varied subjects, as woodblock printing, silver jewellery making, Chinese ink painting, and the craft and conservation of bookbinding.
Day classes are also available, for learning more about Shakespeare's plays, yoga, enamelling, gardening and understanding contemporary art. Urchfont Manor College also conducts a number of study tours, which include subjects such as, watercolour and holiday painting at various picturesque locations, learning about ancient civilizations like Rome or Western Crete and exploring Italian gardens. These study tours combine aesthetics with learning in a relaxed, holiday-like atmosphere, which is both invigorating and inspiring.
Urchfont Manor College also offers a range of certificate and continuing courses for subjects like embroidery. The college is also a home to a range of different conferences and events, as it provides a range of meeting rooms, bedrooms, and dining facilities. The college has its own catering service, which can cater to a range of special dietary needs. The college has a number of accommodation options available for residential students including, rooms within the manor as well as accommodation at Fiddlers Cottage, Coach House and Seymour House.
