Suffolk College is situated in central Ipswich, the county town of Suffolk. It is accredited to the University of East Anglia (UEA) for its undergraduate courses while for the postgraduate programmes the courses are jointly validated with the UEA. About 4800 full-time and 8400 part-time students are enrolled at a time this is apart from the 1000's that have joined for the short-term courses.
The college offers Community learning courses in various locations around Ipswich. Both evening and day courses are given in many interesting areas like dance, carpentry, beauty therapy, etc. Adult literacy programmes are also conducted at the college. Further education courses are offered in three levels, foundation level, intermediate, and advanced level.
Higher education courses include postgraduate degree, honours degree etc. These courses can be attended both as full time and as part time scholars. The Centre for Research in Educational Applications of Telematics (CREATE) formed by the College is involved in research in the field of telematics (information and communication technologies), to study the contribution of telematics towards effective teaching, learning and assessment. Apart from research work CREATE also lends support and guidance towards efficient running of Suffolk College.
