Located about a mile away from the center of Shipley in the World Heritage village of Saltaire in West Yorkshire, Shipley College helps the students, businesses and communities of Bradford District by imparting high quality education and training. With these values, the college strives to achieve high standards in accordance with the community’s needs in the spheres of commerce and industry.
Types Of Courses
Shipley College has educational and training courses for all levels of qualifications and for both adults and young students. Wide ranges of subjects are covered and the duration of the courses varies from 3-hour sessions to full time courses of 2 years. Courses are available for both vocational and interest areas and access is arranged for adults to enter higher education. Part time and workshop based courses are also available. A large variety of vocational courses are offered to school leavers at different levels from BTEC first to BTEC National Diploma.
Center Of Vocational Excellence
Shipley College is a Center of Vocational Excellence in the specialized area of Elder Persons’ Health and Care and it’s the first college in West Yorkshire to achieve this distinction. It works untiringly towards honing the skills of the people who are already working in this field and gives sufficient training to those people who wish to enter this field. This training increases their employment potential through workforce development and collaboration with local employers.
Shipley College also provides part-time courses, bespoke training, subsidised Train to Gain programs and Apprenticeships to help the growth of businesses.
