The main aim of Scarborough College is to see that all their students succeed in life. For that they are ready to go an extra mile to help them in every way possible. It gives grants to needy students, provides travel allowances to those in need and also provides childcare to the students so that they do not miss out on their classes. Only A Level and BTEC along with GCSE are taught here to 16-19 age group students.
Courses Offered
The subjects offered here include Art and Design, BTEC in Business Studies, Chemistry, Sports Leader Awards (AS), Computing, Dance Leader Award, Design Technology, Production Design, Drama and Theatre Studies, Economics, English (GCSE), English Language, English Literature, French, General Studies, Geology, ICT (applied), Further Mathematics and Travel and Tourism.
For adult learners and mature students, the college makes sure that people who came back to learning environment after a long time do not feel awkward or left out. They are properly guided and courses are tailored to suit individual need. The courses last for a maximum of thirty weeks. The class size is kept small so that the teachers can pay good care and attention. They can use all the college facilities like sixth form college students. In order that the adult learners don’t get too much stressed out over exams, most of the courses don’t have an exam and instead depend on coursework for evaluation.
