Sarum College was founded in 1995 and is located in Wilshire, in the historic Close of Salisbury Cathedral. The college offers a wide range of courses, mainly spiritual based and encourages dialogue with other faiths and religions. The college offers degrees at a postgraduate level.
The main focus of the college is to encourage exploration and understanding of Christianity as well as other religions. The courses offered range from studies in Christianity to understanding how different religions must work together in present times. Some of the courses currently provided include Masters in Christian spirituality and a certificate course in Christian counselling. Workshops and seminars are also held on subjects like personal development training and theological exploration.
A number of specialized Christian programmes are offered at Sarum College which explore various facets of Christian faith in everyday life. These programmes include courses on traditions, prayer and private study, retreats and supervised spiritual journeys. The college is also home to the Centre for Faith and Action in Society, which aims to create stronger bonds between Christians and their community.
Sarum College is also home to the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme, which offers initial ministerial training for the Church of England, the United Reformed Church and the Methodist Church. The college's library has a collection of over 35000 theological books and is open to both students and the public. Accommodation is also available for those on retreats or private study programs.
