Set up in 1899, Ruskin College is a residential college with a long history of helping the downtrodden and marginalized. Set up in a time, when capitalism was at its naked best, Ruskin College opened its door for the workers, so that they could go ahead, armed with a good education in life. The same tradition continues till today. The college gives a ‘a second chance’ to everybody and also welcomes those, who want to give back to society.
Courses Offered: There are all kinds of courses that this college offers, starting from certHE program that last for 1 year to MA courses. So, they cove anyone who needs education: the ones who have no qualification, those who need new qualification and those who want to increase their qualification. The subjects offered are English, Creative Writing, International Labor and Trade Union Studies, Women Studies, Social work, Public History, and many more.
Facilities Offered: The college has grants for adults, who are studying HE courses. For UK students, they have to be the citizen of the country for 3 years, before they can apply for the government funding. For European students, they have to be in the European Union for the proceeding three years, before they apply for the college. There are many scholarships available from private trusts as well as different trade unions.
