The Riverside College Halton started in 2006 by merging Halton College with Widens and Runcorn sixth form. The college prides itself as a motivator to students, sixth formers and adults, to go for the best opportunities in life.
Courses At The Sixth Form
Three levels of qualifications are present -A level, BTEC and NVQ. The subjects offered vary from traditional subjects like Humanities, Science, Business, Art and Design and modern subjects like Photography, Film Studies, Music Technology, Travel and Tourism, Early years and Child Care, Beauty therapy and so on. If the students like to work straight after passing out from here, they can join the Apprenticeship Courses.
Courses For Adult Education
The college has excellent access to University courses that promise to do what they promise, i.e.to help a mature student reach higher education. The courses are arranged and conducted in such manner keeping in mind that an adult may not be able to devote as many time for studies as a young student can. The tutors not only guide them in their studies but also lend a shoulder to lean on during personal problems that may have an adverse effect on the result of the student.

All the three campuses have very good catering services that present home cooked foods in a relaxing atmosphere. There are beauty parlors, florist shops and even a smoking area as the college is a no-smoke zone.
