College Profile

Richard Huish College is a sixth form college offering full time Advanced level courses. It is near Somerset and in the city of Touton. The subjects taught here are varied and counselling is given to the student before they take admission regarding which course is best suited for them.

Subjects Taught

Some of the subjects taught here include Accounting, Archaeology, Art and Art Textile, Business studies, Chemistry, Critical Thinking, Dance, Drama and Theater Studies, Economics, Environment Studies, Film Studies, Further Mathematics, Government and Politics, Performance Studies, Popular Music Industries, Religious Studies, Sports, Travel and Tourism.

Interesting Tit-Bits

The college has several buildings. The Willow Building is for business, humanities and music and it opened in 2001. The Hawthorn Building is for English, History, Physical Education, Leisure and Recreation. It also houses the changing rooms for sports program. A fully refurbished Arthur C. Clarke Learning center opened in 2003 and Sports Dome in 2006.

There is student exchange program with Bluefield College, Virginia US under which groups of students from both the college visited each other and studied for some time in the two colleges. There are many interesting societies to participate in like Debate society, Creative Writing Society and so on. The Film Studies group goes for practical classes with professional crew where they participate in different aspects of filmmaking. All in all the student life in Richard Huish College is the best thing a youngster can undertake for a better future.
