College Profile

Priestley College, which has been awarded the rating of ‘outstanding’ by the OFSTED, rightly deserves it. For they have an excellent pass percentage of nearly 100% in their A level, Foundation courses and BTEC courses. The students of this college go for higher studies in medical, law or engineering. They get admission in leading universities like Oxford and Cambridge.

About The Courses

The college has three divisions. The Sixth Form College for 16 to 19 years old, the Adult College for those who want to further their qualification and Professional Training to advance the career. In the Sixth Form, there are academic qualifications of AS/A2 level as well as vocational qualification of BTEC diplomas. Plus there are some more courses offered like ASDN or NCFE.

The adult courses offer help for students who need to brush up their GCSE scores in core subjects like Math, English or Science. There are also NVQ courses as well as non-accredited courses aimed at the personal improvement of the person. The professional training courses have a broad range of subjects like Management Development and Professional Development.

Subjects Taught

In the Sixth Form College the subjects are offered under Art and Design, Business Law and Travel, Early Years & Health & Social Care, Sports along with traditional subjects under Humanities, Science and Math and Information Technology. The courses under Adult Education are Child Care and Adult Care Courses, Craft and Design Certificates as well as interesting courses on Beauty therapy, Yoga, Internet for beginners and so on.
