College Profile

Preston College seems to live by the motto that if you canít take the horse to the water, bring the water to the horse. Thatís why they have excellent community based courses, which the students can take at their choice of time. The venues are not always in the two campuses, --- Fulwood and Park, but at a convenient center near the studentís home.

Courses Offered

Variety of courses are offered in subjects as diverse as Beauty therapy, IT, Mathematics, Teacher education, Sports and Public Services, Construction, Creative Art, Business and Management, Retail, Hospitality as well as regular A level courses. Most courses for are for 16 to 19 years old students and are full time courses. For Adult Education, courses are part time as well as flexible.

Facilities Offered In Preston

Many courses in Preston College are free if you come from a poor economic background. Financial help is even given for buying study materials. If you are an adult and have not studied full level 2 or level 3 before, then the entire tuition fee is waived off. If a person is over 19 years old and studying for more than 12 hours a day, then the person is eligible for a grant too. It is not that tuition fee is only waived off for over 19 students; students between 16 to 19 studying for DfES qualification in a full time or a part time course, also has their tuition fees waived. Beside this, the campuses have coffee shops, student employment service, child care service and even a beauty parlour!
