First Diploma, National Diploma and Award, Foundation Degree and Degree level and vocational courses are offered in the various subjects related to agriculture, horticulture, Equine, animal care, forestry, foundation learning, machinery, wine studies and many more here. Most of the courses are full time courses but part time courses are also available. The part time courses are of two types --- work based learning and business training and business management training. The first one is for people who like to study without taking a break from their career and the courses under this category are for the age group 16-24. The other one is for people needing a course for career development or meeting legal requirements like NPTC Certificate of Competence in Safe Use of Pesticide.
About The Campus
The farms that are under Plumpton College are organic farms. Wheat, Oil Seed Rape and Forage Maize are the main crops grown here and the rest land is kept as grazing land in an organic method. They are trying to preserve the natural grassland of South Dawns. The animals here are prized animals having won many prizes. They are sold to the local people in Freezer Packs. The students are involved with them from birth, rearing and packaging. The students learn everything through first hand experience at Plumpton College.
