College Profile
In 1586, a rich man Peter Symonds while dying left in his will an unfulfilled dream and money for the betterment of his hometown, Winchester. Out of his generosity emerged Peter Symonds College, a college for students who are still in their teens.
Courses Offered
The thrust of the college is towards courses that will help the students earn a livelihood. So the subjects are very job oriented like tourism, information technology, sports studies and so on. They offer vocational subjects along with other traditional subjects in the A level exam. So a student can get employment after passing from this college. Another key feature is the ‘Key Skill’ subjects like Application of Numbers, IT and communication that are taught here which increase the job value of the graduating students and also help them in getting admission into other colleges.
Other Facilities
Though the college is for 16 to19 year old students, the college also has Adult Continuing Education Programs. All kinds of subjects are taught starting from job related subjects like teaching, IT, creative writing, ceramic painting, sewing and many more.
