Nelson & Colne College aim to be the heart of excellence in providing education and training to the community it serves. The college treats all students as equal and tries to help students to reach their full potential. The college believes in the virtue of integrity and honesty. It aims to utilise all its resources fully to the benefit of the students. Many students of the college opt for higher education to colleges like at Oxford or Cambridge. The staffs help them out and out in making the applications to those institutes. The College Training Services offer a variety of programmes, which helps the student earn while they learn. An apprenticeship program comprises of four days of attendance in the work place and one day attendance at the College. This way the students gain real life work experience and are also paid for that.

Nelson & Colne College promotes an ambience, which supports personal responsibility and discipline in the College. The college also has particularly trained personnel who are there to help people having certain learning difficulties. The college has exhaustive tutorial system help the students to study and learn well. The tutors are very devoted and they help the students to achieve their life goals.
