College Profile
Lauder College was established in 1899 and is located in Fife, Scotland. It is a Further Education college and has over 15,000 students every year. The college has its main campus at Halbeath. It also has a Construction Centre at Cowdenbeath and many community learning centres in West Fife. Lauder College even offers education to prisoners who are in five of Her Majesty’s Prisons. Several courses are offered at the college on a full-time or part-time basis. These courses cover various subjects which fall under certain curriculum groups. Some of these groups are Computing and IT, Humanities, Creative Arts and Media, Hospitality and Tourism, and Science.
A large number of qualifications can be achieved at Lauder College. Some of these are National Qualifications, Modern Apprenticeships, Professional Development Awards and Higher National Diplomas. Courses are offered for a variety of students as well. From school leavers to degree seekers to adults wanting to learn something new, there are students of all ages and categories at the college. The community centres offer courses for those who wish to learn some place close to home.
Many facilities are available at Lauder College which are conducive to the learning experience of the students. Some such facilities include the Media Space which has art spaces, dance and drama studios and sound studio. The Science Suite has laboratories as well as quiet study rooms. AdvanTech is the world class facility for Computing and Information Technology.
