College Profile

Josiah Mason Sixth Form College established in 1983, is situated in Birmingham. It was first established as a sixth form specialist college but since 1992, it offers higher education courses at university level, adult education and courses for businesses. It merged with Sutton Coldfield College in 2006 to form one of the largest colleges in the country and has more than 20,000 students in their campuses across North Birmingham.

The sixth form centre of the college offers a variety of courses from AS/A2 Levels to GCSE to vocational programmes. Some of the subjects offered at A-Levels are Archaeology, Biology, Dance, Electronics and Religious Studies. Vocational programmes are offered at Josiah Mason Sixth Form College in various areas. Some of the areas are Beauty Therapy, Childcare, Media, Performing Arts, Public Services and Forensic Science. The college also offers higher education courses and foundation degree courses as well in more than thirty subjects. Some areas of study are Legal Studies, Teacher Training, Art and Design, and Media and Journalism.

Josiah Mason Sixth Form College provides many services to its students like career guidance, counselling, learning centre, learning mentors and examination guidance. There are 11 sports academies at the Sutton Coldfield campus for sports such as Hockey, Cricket, Athletics, Golf and Netball. These sports can be combined with most of the academic programmes. There is a students union organizing various activities such as yoga, paintballing and snowboarding.
