Hopwood Hall College is funded by the UK Government and has campuses in two locations, Middleton and Rochdale. It is a further education college which was founded in 1990. It offers full-time and part-time courses in many areas including A-Levels, work based apprenticeship programmes, vocational courses and higher education. The college has around 3000 full-time students and 8000 part-time students.
Hopwood Hall College has many courses on offer such as Science and Maths, Art and Design, Business, Hospitality, Hair and Beauty, and Information Technology. These subjects and more can be studied at various levels like the A-Levels, GCSE, foundation degree courses, vocational diplomas, and higher national diplomas and certificates. Many facilities are available on both the campuses. There are over a thousand computers, learning resource centres, internet access, shops and cafés, nurseries for children of students and staff, and various sports facilities. There are a variety of enrichment activities provided to develop new skills like British sign language and classroom driving as well.
Hopwood Hall College provides services such as learner support, financial assistance and additional learning support for students with disabilities. The guidance centre offers advice to students about college courses as well as career counselling. A Business services centre is there which provides specialised training programmes for certain companies. The apprenticeship programme helps in recruiting apprentices as well as provides training to employees. International students come from all over the world and can stay either with a host family or in a student house.
