Holy Cross College is a Catholic sixth form college and was established by the Daughters of the Cross. It is located in Lancashire. The college welcomes students and staff of all faiths. It has been ranked as one of the top ten colleges in the country this year and has even achieved Beacon Status. The college offers AS and A2 level courses for 16 to 19 year olds, GCSE and adult education.
The post-16 courses offered at Holy Cross College cover various subjects. Some of these are Film Studies, Chemistry, Health Studies, Modern Foreign Languages and Theology. GCSE subjects on offer are English, Maths and Single Science. There is a University Centre at the college in association with the Liverpool Hope University which provides Higher Education for adult students. The courses are flexible with classes in the evenings and combines college-based and home-based study. The courses include BA/BSC Combined Honours Degrees, Foundation Degree in Early Years and Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
Holy Cross College provides opportunities to students to excel in extra curricular activities as well as academics. It provides facilities for sports, music and performing arts. There are several student clubs and societies for various activities, and students are encouraged to do charity work as well. Services such as personal tutor, learning support for students with disabilities and access to the Chaplain for advice and guidance are also there. These are all part of the enrichment and excellence programme of the college.
