Hillcroft College is located at Surbiton in Surrey. It is a registered charity institution which offers learning opportunities to women through residential courses. Women who have little or no qualifications can study at the college to develop skills and knowledge that will help them in their endeavours as well as build their confidence. The college was founded in the 1920ís and was known as the Working Womenís College. It offers many courses and has several facilities which help the students a great deal.
In this residential college, women have a wide range of subjects to choose from. There are courses in Information Technology, English and Maths. There is also an English language course for students who speak other languages. Courses are also offered to women who wish to develop their work skills for new or current employment, for women who work in the community sector and for those who wish to continue with further studies and go to university.
A summer school is also organised by Hillcroft College for women where various skills and topics are taught. Some areas covered are creative writing, home maintenance skills and tips to start a business. The college offers free childcare, a learning resources centre, single study bedrooms in its residential buildings, daily catering services and laundry facilities. As it is a residential college, students enjoy benefits like not having to commute to college and benefit from access to learning facilities throughout the day.
