Greenhead College is a sixth form college located in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. It has several A and AS level subjects on offer for students aged 16 to 19 years. Greenhead has more than 1700 students. It offers academic opportunities as well as extra curricular activities to provide a wholesome education for its students.
There are many subjects available for students who can complete their A level in a year and their AS level after two years. Some subjects offered are Chemistry, Economics, Psychology, History, Italian and Business Studies. To qualify for the A level courses, students should have obtained at least five Grade C’s in their GCSE with a compulsory Grade C in either English or Mathematics.
Apart from its Advanced level courses, Greenhead College offers its students an opportunity to achieve at least Grade C in Mathematics or English through GCSE re-sits. This is a one year course. There are also some IT courses offered in addition to the A levels. Students can take courses in Word Processing, Mailmerge and Text Production so that they are proficient in Information Technology by the time they complete their Advance Level courses.
There are several extra curricular activities offered by Greenhead College. Sports like rugby, football, netball and hockey are available. The college also organises theatre productions as well as musical performances by the students. All these activities are part of the enrichment programmes that the college promotes.
