Founded in 1949 in the county of Berkshire, the Berkshire College of Agriculture offers a range of courses which involve leisure, caring and land-based industries. These include further education courses for students who are 16 years and older, higher education courses and a number of part time courses which are aimed at career development. Students can choose from subjects such as animal management, horticulture & garden, floristry and construction.
The college is also open to students from the international community and picks up students from the airport as well as give them a number of support services to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Students here receive help in getting accommodation as well as guidance in a number of welfare issues. Berkshire College of Agriculture also has an Essential Skills department which offers specialized training in personal development. This includes helping students learn how to interpret questions, structure assignments, proofread and manage their time.
Berkshire College of Agriculture has a number of learning support services available to help students with special needs or those who have problems with English. The college also provides counselling services for students to help them deal with personal or emotional problems they may be facing. Financial assistance is also available for eligible students in the form of Educational Maintenance Allowances and Learner Support Funds. Students can also take advantage of the fitness center, golf course, workshops and the equestrian center as well.
