Barrow-In-Furness Sixth Form College is located in Cumbria and offers a wide range of courses for adult learners as well as Level 2 and Level 3 courses for sixth form students. The college places special emphasis on smooth transition from school to college life and offers a dynamic support system to help students deal with the changes.
Level 3 programs at the Barrow-In-Furness Sixth Form College consist of tutorials, exams and the development of key skills. Level 2 courses focuses on what the student will require continuing their higher education or pursuing a career. Students may choose from subjects such as accounting, computing, film studies, information & communication technology and psychology.
Barrow-In-Furness Sixth Form College provides all students between the ages of 16 and 18 with group tutoring sessions and a personal tutor, with whom they must meet with twice a week with a formal progress review held twice a year. The college also provides career advice and counselling about the best career options available to students. A Learning Support System is also available to help students with special needs or disabilities. The system offers help with taking notes, Dictaphones and special help when taking up examinations.
Barrow-In-Furness Sixth Form College offers a number of learning opportunities for adults as well, which include a Skills for Life program and Learning in the Workplace courses. Classes are available in both day and evening timetables and a study at home option is available as well.
